We have added a number of new yarns. I thought I better send out an update. We have several exciting new changes coming too!! So I thought I better take a minute to keep you up to date.

I hope you have a fabulous day!! 9 June 2008 I've been diligently working on the web site adding areas and departments in the hopes that consolidating everything into one central location will make shopping with us easier for you and us. I've added the Clearance Store. As most of you know by now we are closing our eBay store. This decision was made in an attempt to keep our prices as low as possible. As long as we can keep our expenses down we can keep our prices down. While we sold quite a bit at our eBay store the fees are constantly something to be contended with. We may occasionally do an auction at eBay, but our clearance and closeout items will be listed here from now on. If we do run an auction we will post it on our What's on Sale Page I have also added the Wholesale/Bulk Order department. Now our wholesale customers can shop right online again. But this area is also open to the public which will make it easier for professional crafters, or crafter that make items for charity to get their materials at a better price. There is a $100.00 minimum and that department works on a separate shopping cart. You can find out more about it by clicking the link above though. We are still having problems getting our Coats Opera and J&P Coats Royale Crochet Cotton in. From what I was told the company had to refuse a shipment from there supplier because of substandard quality. This of course ran them low and they ran out of several of the colors. So of course they had no stock to fill my orders with so I ran out. Coat and J&P Coats have since received their shipment and are hustling to fill all their orders. Supposedly my shipments are due to arrive this week. I will believe it when I see the delivery truck arrive. Unfortunately I believe we are all a bit irritated with this whole situation. I truly hope for Coats and J&P Coats sake that they work these issues out quickly. I know several of you have moved to the DMC Cebelia Crochet Cotton. For those of you that still have orders and backorders out for the Coats Opera and J&P Coats Royale thank you for your continued patience. I will ship your orders as soon as my shipments arrive. Coats & J&P Coats owe you a debt of gratitude for your loyalty!!! We are also implementing a new computer system to help expedite inventory and order processing. Right now we are still running a bit behind in orders. But we are confident that this new system will speed the process up. Also we are raising our inventory levels to accommodate the increase in sales. Hopefully we will not continue to run out of so many products so quickly. Keep an eye I have more ideas to improve the web site and make shopping with us easier!!! 1 April 2008 It’s hard to believe that it is already April 1st and three months have gone by since I have had time to post a What’s New message. These last 3 months have been incredibly busy!! You know the saying, when it rains it pours?? Well, it’s been pouring here. Between Wal-Mart discontinuing their DMC floss inventory, The Yarn Harlot and Ravelry working on patterns from the Street Smart pattern book, Several of the craft and department stores downsizing their yarn departments And Coats running out of cotton for their crochet threadsWe have been overwhelmed with orders. And I want to thank all of you who have patiently waited for your orders over the last 3 months. We just were not prepared for everything to happen at once like that. But it appears that we are getting back up to par now. Orders are shipping in a more timing manner and we are increasing our inventory to accommodate. The only loose end is Coats. Several of their Crochet Cotton colors are still out of stock. This shortage is affecting the Coats Opera Crochet Cotton and the J&P Coats Royale Crochet Cotton lines. From what I have learned the colors should all be back in stock by the 16th of April. We have all the missing colors on order and will ship all backorders as quickly as our shipment is received.
I still have not been able to get a straight answer as to why this shortage occurred. Although the fact that the cotton comes from overseas has been alluded to several times, we have not received a direct answer. Only that they are working on the problem and the cotton is expected back in stock and available on the 16th.
There are some exciting new yarns coming out. We will do our best to get these items in stock and available as quickly as possible. I should be able to have a complete list for you within a couple of weeks. We also have some new products listed at our Kal-Kare Natural Skin and Body Care website you may want to take a look at. We have had a fabulous response to our Hemp Hand & Body Lotion. Our knitters and crochetiers here in the storefront just love it!! Since it is made with natural vegetable based oils it soaks completely in. So you can stop your stitching for a couple of minutes, give your hands a little pick me up and go right back to stitching. There’s no greasy feeling or anything to come off on your project. It soaks right in and leaves your hands feeling soft and moisturized. Until next time, Thank You again for your continued patronage. 9 Dec 2007: Sorry I'm so late with the update this time. I try to do the What's New email at the first of the month. We have been very busy though and we have added several new products. It is hard to believe it’s almost the middle of December already!! I won’t even mention how many days till Christmas!! Some of you may have already noticed that we are now carrying the Lion Brand yarns as well. We have a few of the lines in. I hope to have more in very soon. As new lines arrive I will post them. right now we have the; Patons has added a new line as well, Patons Classic Merino Wool Tweeds. We have that in stock now. Lovely yarn to work with!!! And I have several of you requesting some more of the Red Heart and TLC lines. So we are looking into expanding the TLC lines I know. The Red Heart is still up in the air right now. If there is a line in the Red Heart that you would like to see us carry though please drop me an email and let me know. I’m always open to suggestions. Several of you know that I was a Mary Kay consultant for several years. Due to my and my husbands ever changing (and aging) skin I no longer sell Mary Kay cosmetics. But, we have a new natural line we are marketing as Kal-Kare and we carry the Complete Lady Emil Natural Cosmetics line. You can find our new line, Kal-Kare and the Lady Emily line listed at www.kal-kare.com Keep in mind that the week between Christmas and New Years we do close down for inventory. So please do not be alarmed if your order is delayed a couple of days. We close down so we can get the inventory out of the way as quickly as possible and resume processing orders. 2 Nov 2007: There's lots of new "stuff" this month, patterns and yarns!! Oh it's like Christmas has come early!!! We have picked up 2 more lines of the Phentex Yarns. We now have the Phentex Worsted and the Phentex Chunky in stock. These are great yarns for larger projects. They come in convenient 14 oz skein solids and 10.5 oz skein ombres. With larger skeins there are less ends to tuck!!! Bernat & Patons have some fun new patterns out and we have them in stock now. I've listed them below and linked the pattern names to their web page.

Here are some new sweater, accessory and garment patterns. There's something new for everyone!! As always, I thank all of you for your continued patronage!! 1 Oct 2007: It's hard to believe that Oct is already here!! As most of you have already noticed the new website is just about completely finished. Thank you to all of you that have been pointing out the little things I have over looked. I appreciate it. I am working on putting the Gift Shop back up. I know the holidays are getting closer and closer. Remember if you want to order custom items for Christmas please don't wait to the last minute. I hate to disappoint anyone. So get your orders in early. Remember all of our items are handmade, we do not use machines to make any of it. We have also added a skin and body care line to our Gift Shop. I went looking for a company that would allow me to market their bath products with my handmade items. Well, I have to tell you I am very impressed with the entire Lady Emily line. Their products are natural and 98% organic. Best of all they work!!! I finally found a skin care line that I can use for my oily skin. Mother has dry skin and it works for her as well. I found out that's the beauty of it, since it is all natural it is designed to bring your skin to it's natural balance. And it works great!! The cosmetics are fabulous, and remember the body care products can be used by the whole family!!! Lady Emily even has a baby and kids bath line. Sorry, I did not mean to get off the subject. I just really like the products. Back to yarn though now. I will be opening the Gift Shop back up within the next couple of weeks. We will have gift sets that feature our handmade items and the Lady Emily bath products. I think they will make great gifts so remember to get your orders in early. We will gladly ship for you too. Just put the recipients name in the shipping address and in the "Special Instructions" during checkout please let us know that it is a gift. We will send a packing list with no prices in with the order. Sorry though one shipping address per order. You may have also noticed that I am adding more of the Bernat and Patons yarns. My goal is once again carry all of their products. Remember if there is something in their lines that you want and you do not see it just let me know. I will gladly add it to my next order. I order every week so that's not a problem. 14 Sep 07: Well, free shipping with a $50.00 minimum order won the survey. Keep in mind we do not have a minimum purchase. We offer a flat rate shipping of $5.99 on any order up to $50.00. After that the shipping is on us. I have been diligently working on this new web site every morning. I am trying to get all the new yarns posted. We have most of them in stock. The ones we do not are on order. So, if you order something and we do not ship right away it is on order and on the way. If there is a yarn by Bernat, Lily or Patons that you do not see here and you want it just drop me an email. I'll gladly special order it for you as long as it a current line product. Bernat and Patons are running behind in their shipping schedule. So my shipments are taking about a week longer to arrive than usual. I ship backorders out the same day I receive my shipment though. I don't like you to wait any longer than you have to for your order. I do my best to keep all the yarns in stock. But, there are a lot of them to keep up with. I order every week though so I always have something on order or on the way in. Don't forget to let me know if you notice a mistake or broken link. Remember I do my own web mastering. The web site looks different from this side and it is very easy to over look something. So if you notice a broken or missing link just let me know. Spelling and grammatical errors are going to happen. Like my English professor use to say to me, "Where does that comma go?" You know I still have not figured it out!! I do try though. So, THANK YOU!!! 22 Aug 07: As you can see we have had a face lift and have moved to a new web site. Due to continuous problems with the shopping cart we selected in January we have opted to move again. I am still in the process of rebuilding everything. I am adding items everyday. Please if you find a link or button that is not working properly bring it to my attention. Just drop me an email with a link to the page were the broken link or button is. With a site this large it is easy to miss something Once I have everything moved I will retrieve the original domain name from the shopping cart and use our original domain name www.yarn-and-threadbylisa.com for our web store again. Then this web site, www.yarn-and-threadbylisa.biz will become an information site. I hope to post help tips, pattern hints and what not here. I am doing my best not to interrupt service while moving everything. If there is something you want and you do not see it posted here yet just let me know.
